AC Shadows Introduces Surprising Attack on Titan Event for Thanksgiving
In a surprising collaboration that breaks usual expectations, Ubisoft has revealed an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing free bonus story content for Shadows players.
Strange Questline Uncovered
According to the official announcement, "A strange encounter leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where whispers of prohibited ceremonies and monstrous metamorphoses reverberate through the shadows." The plot presents a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a hidden sect.
The mission concentrates on "strange trials and a fearsome adversary" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Metamorphoses
The preview features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview concludes with a powerful moment showing a character, probably the captive, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Rewards and Bonus Features
Players who accomplish the adventure will receive an exclusive katana alongside several objects concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Unique arms
- Survey Corps steed
Latest Free Story Update
This update also introduces the game's newest no-cost story content, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic abilities: Naoe debuts a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also features a new environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
