Critical Role Season Four Introduces the Fighters Party

Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a colorful mix of personalities, and a thrilling plot including divine entities, demons, and sinister influences growing in strength within the city.

Warning: Key plot points for Episode 3 of the new season follow below.

The Warrior Group Unveiled

Episode 3 ended with a huge suspense moment and presented the initial group of heroes who will split off from the central cast to begin their independent quest, separate from the other two tables.

The Soldiers table features Teor (portrayed by Travis), Thimble (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).

Dividing the Cast

Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at a single group would be impossible.

This explains, the initial installments of this story serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before splitting into three separate parties: Fighters, Strategists, and Seekers.

Characteristics of the Combat Party

As described by the DM, the warrior group is for participants who are drawn to a classically intense battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are rare.

Initially, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander might seem mismatched, but the events of the latest installment show why these five characters are ideally matched for the combat party.

Why They Must Go

For one thing, the team understands precisely where to head next after a violent initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.

A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing kicked off the story’s plot—used the foes for his selfish purposes, entering the hidden lair, striking Thimble, and stealing all the enchanted items to auction.

The traitor then cleared his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, above the city, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.

Personal Motivations

Moreover, each member has a specific drive to leave the city the urban setting:

  • The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, wants revenge.
  • The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and advises that it is a hostile place.
  • The strong character and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to eliminate the fighter and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
  • But, their status as key figures in House Halovar could help the team access places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Additionally, Teor vowed a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.

Pursued by Authorities

In addition, all of them are sought by the powers that control Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:

  • The rogue and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
  • The strong figure and The cleric defied the influential house and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
  • The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.

This means them few options but to travel to the remote area in search of the traitor.

Upcoming Developments

From the recent installment’s Cooldown, we learn that the Soldiers table will be absent next week, leaving the other eight participants to round up the Explorers and Schemers tables.

Audiences can anticipate discovering which characters will be where in the story’s concluding setup installment, released on the upcoming Thursday.
